Yayasan Suria JB(YSJB) – Running a Foundation. Easy?
Answer: No.
First, you got to go out to look for funds without which you can’t help anybody.
Second and the most important is INTEGRITY. If you don’t have this, don’t run a Foundation. It’s PUBLIC MONEY and you have to account for every cent received and spent.
Receipts are issue irrespective of whether it is a one ringgit or a few thousand ringgit donation.
YSJB is registered with ROS(Registrar of Societies) and recognised by Income Revenue Board of Malaysia(LHDN) and we are allowed to issue tax exempted receipts. Our yearly accounts are sent to ROS/Income Tax Department for their perusal.
Running a Foundation calls for proper check & balance(our accounts are prepared and audited by a chartered accounting firm), transparency and total accountability as we are handling public money.
Going off the tangent, I want to share with you a video on ‘THAT IS THE DAY WHEN YOU LIVE’ – I am glad I discovered the real meaning of life – Helping others to make their lives more meaningful & beautiful!
As I am on the last leg of the 4 x 400m relay, being 68 years ‘young’, the ‘baton’ will eventually got to be handed to me to finish the race.
