Yayasan Suria JB Care (YSJBC) – Tending to the neglected lot in society!
Yes, the Orang Asli (indigenous people) are the marginalized in our society, we often forget that they exist amongst us, for they live very far away from us, often in areas only accessible by 4WDs or speed boats.
On 16th & 17th Aug, 2024, our Foundation together with SHF (Social Heroes Foundation), Ihsan Johor, APM (Malaysia Civil Defence) organized a Community-Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) program at Kampong Orang Asli(Seletar tribe) Pasir Sulam, Ulu Tiram, JB.
This two-day event was held there as this Kampong is a flood-pronged area.
On YSJB’s part, we brought along Promex UHT milk for the Orang Asli, their first time tasting such delicious milk, a hit, especially among the children.
Also we supplied 931 kg of fruits and vegetables, courtesy of FarmByte – enough to feed the whole community there, comprising some 40 families.
It was a carnival-like atmosphere for this 2-day event, we served all, irrespective of race & religion as our Foundation is coloured -blind.
