The Foundation is the brainchild of James Philip Ho (or commonly refer to as (“James Ho”). He has been doing a lot of charity work on his own for the past 30 years (Tsunami Project in Indonesia 2005, Kota Tinggi/Plentong (Johor) Floods 2006, Sabah earthquake 2015 and most recently, the Semporna’s Covid-19 non-medical mission Nov/Dec 2020 in Sabah.
Collecting funds for Cancer patients, Counselling in Hospitals, etc) to prove to the Malaysian Government (MG) that he is genuine and after checking his records, the MG finally approved the formation of the Foundation in 2012.
3 years after being recognised by ROS, the Foundation (YSJB) was recognised by Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) through their charity arm, IMSHA (Iskandar Malaysia Social Heroes Award) for doing social work.
Iskandar Malaysia is an economic development area around the Johor Bahru district encompassing about 2.5 times the size of Singapore island.
