Yayasan Suria JB Care (YSJBC) – Doing Good, Even When It Feels Wrong! 
Being a volunteer isn’t as simple as it looks. Sometimes, people misunderstand, criticize, or even mock us for helping others. But we carry on, knowing the lives we touch make it all worth it.
Today, 21/1/2025, while shopping at Econsave Permas Jaya, I had a few encounters that made me reflect on this journey.
While paying at the counter, a Pakcik behind me asked why I was buying so much. When I said it was for charity, he snapped back, saying I had nothing better to do. I kept silent, but the young Adik at the counter stepped up and defended me. Thank you, Adik, for your kind words!
Later, an Ah Pek questioned me the same way and even called me mad for using my money to help others. I just walked away, knowing arguing wouldn’t change his mind.
This is the reality of volunteering—being misunderstood and criticized. But it doesn’t matter. What matters is staying focused on the lives we can improve.
At Yayasan Suria JB Care, we distribute around 105 food banks monthly, often delivering them directly to families who can’t collect them themselves. Someone even joked that I’m like “Lalamove” – delivering care, love, and hope!
