Yayasan Suria JB Care(YSJBC) – The Rare Privilege of Resting as a Volunteer! 💤❤️
A 4-day CNY break – what a luxury for a volunteer like me! Since starting this journey 13 years ago, a proper afternoon sleep has been a rare treat. Quick 5-min power naps, yes. But these past two afternoons, I indulged in 2-3 hours of uninterrupted rest – a blessing not everyone gets to enjoy!
Normally, my days run from 9 am to 6 pm – a “hobby” we volunteers adore. Unpaid and driven by love for humanity, we tackle countless emergencies: families evicted, children hungry, mums without school bus fare, or people unable to pay hospital visits. The list is endless. Who steps in? We do!
It’s the love for humanity that keeps us going – not for fame, rewards, or payment. We do it purely to help others. Because, truly, it is in helping others that we find happiness.
As hungry stomachs know no bounds, some of our volunteers are still on the ground, bringing relief to the poor, albeit at a slower pace.
Volunteers, like hybrid cars, need fuel – your donations (Vit “M”) – to keep running. But unlike cars, our “happiness energy” from helping others is eternal, flowing endlessly, and utterly addictive.
As my “luxury break” wraps up, it’s back to serving humanity with love and humility – because that’s what we do best!
