Ensure milk is a fortified milk, a complete milk formula where all the nutritional requirements can be found there and one can live on this milk without taking anything else.
We have a paralysed man, on tube feeding, whom we have been supplying 15 tins of Ensure milk monthly for the past 11 years. And he is alive today and we are continuing with our monthly supplies.
We also provide this Ensure milk to our clients who are battling cancer, those recovering from operations and elderly persons too weak to move about.
When I was on cancer treatment some 21 years ago, during chemotherapy/radiotherapy treatments or sessions, I was also consuming Ensure milk to boost my immune system and to supplement other nutrients and this has helped in my cancer treatment & recovery.

I can testify to the goodness of this fortified milk but the present cost is driving us mad. Some 2 years ago, we used to purchase for about RM70 for a tin of 850 gm Ensure milk but now, as I write, it is hovering around RM90 to RM108. This milk is not a controlled item and there is a big variation in prices from shops, pharmacies and Chinese medical halls.
Indeed, monthly we go around sourcing for the the best deal to stretch our money. Our money comes from the public (YOU) and we are responsible for every cent spent!
As the price for Feb 2023 is about RM100 a tin, it will cost us an arm and a leg to purchase about 35 tins monthly for our clients, depending on demand and circumstances.
How can we say “NO” to our clients who really need this milk to recover from cancer/operation and survive like the bed-ridden paralysed man?
For the paralysed man, that was a whopping RM170,000 we have spent so far (15 tins x RM85 x 12 months x 11 years)! And how long can we go on – this is just one case of Ensure milk, we have others to take care (food banks, pampers, diapers, cooked food for Homes, education and the list goes on).
As stated, our income has dropped or dwindled by some 50% over the past few months and this scenario is indeed very challenging for us to stay afloat. Nevertheless, we soldier on, serving all our clients with L
