Yayasan Suria JB Care (YSJBC) – Venturing into the teaching of the English language!
Our involvement in education started when the Foundation was first registered with ROS on 14th Sept 2012.
We have always believed that education is very important to the country and, as such, everyone must have access to education, especially the Poor.
Our involvement ranges from all aspects relating to education:
1. Primary students:
We provide meals to Poor students through our NASI Project:

2. University students:

Also recently, we are also involved in teaching English to Netherlands Maritime University College (NMUC ) students by our volunteers Ms Caitlin Beh and Ms Joyce Ong respectively.
For info, Ms Caitlin is a teacher and Ms Joyce runs EF English Academy.
This is what En Hanafi, the warden at the students hostel has written about our first English lesson for the students:

To those teachers in JB, you are welcome to be our volunteer in teaching English, at the moment, in two areas now:
1. SK Desa Jaya at Taman Desa Jaya
2. NMUC students at Petri apartment, next to HSAJB (Hospital Sultanah Aminah JB)
We hope to reach out to more schools and universities in JB. Anyone with teaching skills is encouraged to join us as “YSJB’s Volunteer Teachers.”
We welcome you with open arms and, together, we shall improve the standard of English in our schools & universities.
The Foundation also gives out Education bursaries to local and foreign universities, depending on our funds available, no contract after graduation, the students must be from poor families and have good characters.
While our volunteer teachers are teaching the students English, we are also imparting character building, mannerism & soft skills, with the aim of making the students better citizens of the country.
For info, we are also providing poor students of NMUC with weekly wet/dry provisions for them to cook at their hostels.
Yearly, just before the new school term starts, the Foundation is also involved in the BTS (Back To School) program, where we bring poor students to a book store and we pay for the items taken:

The Foundation also rewards poor students for good grades at government exams – “As” & “Bs”, with RM100 for each “As” and RM50 for each “Bs.”
The children are the future of the country long after we have gone and the Foundation is planting the seeds now – laying the foundation!
“What YSJB doesn’t do when it comes to serving humanity with lve & humility.”
“I shall pass this way but once; any good that I can do or any kindness I can show to any human being; let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.”
